Dr. phil. Marnie Reed
Co-CEO & Founder
I am originally from Australia but have spent most of my life as an expatriate. After leaving Melbourne with my family as a teenager, I have lived and worked in London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Switzerland. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the unique gifts and challenges that living abroad can bring.
Professionally, I hold qualifications in both clinical and research-based psychology. My doctoral studies focused on understanding factors associated with expatriate family well-being and adjustment. The aim was to establish more effective interventions for expatriates and their families when seeking support. Our team published several papers in international journals and added valuable insights into working with this population. I also taught undergraduate courses at the University of Basel in the area of clinical child and adolescent psychopathology.
In my clinical work, I have over a decade of experience working with children, teens and adults using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Additionally, I have training and experience in conducting psychological assessments, especially in the realm of developmental disorders such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Learning Disorders.
Outside of work, I live in Basel Stadt with my husband, two teenage sons and two French bulldogs. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, skiing, indoor cycling, and traveling.
